About the author
Juan M. Garcés was born in Cali, Colombia in 1945.
For more than 30 years he worked as a researcher in the chemical industry, yet throughout his career as a scientist Garcés always took time for creative pursuits, be it woodworking or photography, writing or planning and designing his living space.
Retirement in 2004 led to a new chapter in life as a writer, catalyzed by a trip to Popayán, the birthplace of both his mother and father. It was then that he began to bring to life what would become his first novel, Amor en Cuatro Puntos.
When not in his basement study, Juan walks the wooded paths near his home accompanied by his telescoping walking stick and enjoying nature, busies himself in the garden, or whips up one of his signature simple — yet delicious — meals in the kitchen, with the same dedication he brought to his professional life as a scientist.
Juan lives in Michigan (USA) with his wife Linda.
